The mission of the National Parkinson Foundation (www.parkinson.org) is to improve the quality of care for Parkinson’s patients through research, education and outreach.
By taking part in Moving Day (www.NPFMovingDay.org) you become part of a nationwide movement to beat Parkinson’s disease. As many as 1 million Americans have Parkinson’s disease with 60,000 new cases diagnosed each year. The money you raise through Moving Day will help improve the lives of every person with Parkinson’s by supporting NPF’s vital mission including:
- Parkinson’s Disease education and outreach through public awareness campaigns on early warning signs and treatment, as well as free patient resources for patients and their families.
- Cutting-edge research aimed at better treatment and care for people with Parkinson’s.
- Advancement of clinical care through healthcare professional training and other initiatives like our Aware in Care campaign and the Parkinson’s Disease Toolkit.
- Raising awareness about the prevalence of Parkinson’s and the need for our government, the public and communities to stand up and take action.
